Welcome to Concrete sealer. Applying a sealer for concrete is a way that you can protect concrete surfaces by providing a protective barrier between the surface of the concrete and contaminates such as oil, dirt, weeds and moss. If you have pattern imprinted concrete (or pics as it is better know) you must always ensure that the concrete surface is sealed to stop the wear of the coloured concrete. Other types of concrete that benefit from clear concrete sealers are block paving, concrete paving slabs, concrete flagstones that are coloured, garage floor bases, concrete industrial flooring and most types of slab flooring concrete that need to be waterproofed or dust proofed against oil, dirt, grease, moss and weeds. Our concrete sealer is ideal for driveways and patios.
A clear concrete sealant has many uses, it stops the wear of your surface, it stops water from impregnating the surface, it stops the loss of the colour placed on the concrete surface by wearing away the concrete sealer and not the concrete colour, it stops the growth of algae and weeds. It protects wet concrete against frost thus stopping eventual shailing and flaking of the concrete. Applying a coating of Concrete sealers also stop contamination from car petrol and diesel fuel, and engine oil from impregnating the concrete surface, a sealant also can have the added benefit of making the surface anti-slip, Although you should always check with the sealer manufacturer that the concete sealer is anti slip as in some instances an anti slip addative is needed. See our guides on how to apply sealers here. Concrete sealer is available in single packs or you could use an epoxy resin 2 pack for additional strength.
